Wisdom from the Lord:
In a vision I was in a field with Jesus. Then I saw a pit open up in front of me and I could see down into it. But He said it wasn’t actually there, I didn’t need to be afraid of falling in (it was almost like a hologram). So I walked closer to the edge, bent down and looked in.
It was cavernous, red and dark and deep and there were people working, some on ladders, hacking into the stone face with tools. They were dirty, bruised, hopeless, almost mechanical but in a weary way, some of them thoughtless by now in their movements and faces.
Jesus explained that going down to try and help them up wouldn’t help them. He showed me and I could see myself standing next to one of them on the ladder, talking, pointing up to the fresh air, blue sky, flowers, birds, life above, but it made no difference. Even when I tried to grab his face and direct it upwards I couldn’t.
Then, back at the top leaning over the edge with Jesus, I called down and they looked up to see where the sound was coming from. Then they saw the light and sky behind me. I could see their upturned faces change, and they started the long but steady climb up. I also felt that singing would have helped too. Singing from the top.
“Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery.
They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High.
That is why he broke them with hard labour; they fell, and no one was there to help them.
“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains.”
Psalm 107:10-14 (NLT)
“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favouritism and is always sincere.
And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.”
James 3:17,18 (NLT)
