I saw darkness, and in the midst of it a line of torch bearers. I realised what a vital effect such a procession has on those in the darkness.
Lights blazing, lights raising, lights leading, lights breathing hope into those who stumble in shadow lands, eyes barely able to see, feet barely able to stand.
But a Great Light has come to those walking in this darkness. A Light has risen and ignited the hope of onlookers, causing them to become the hope torch bearers – willing to stand, willing to push back, willing to give it all, willing to protect, until the Lord of Hosts appears and takes them home, until the darkness is vanquished and His world is restored.
Note the editor was listening to the following track whilst reviewing and pondering this post. The words of this post combined with the music is very potent. (You might want to try it.):
“Nevertheless, that time of darkness and despair will not go on forever… The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.”
Isaiah 9:1-2 (NLT)
