An inspired poem:
Speed is what I need
Speed to keep moving fast
To outwit and outlast
Speed to zoom past the distractions and perversions
Speed to chase the divine
For in this realm I belong
The realm which is mine
Not bound by petty bureaucracy nor earth-bound complication
But skyward bound in flight
Destined for the fight
Dependent not on my own strength
Nor on human wisdom or might
But on my Father and His Son
On my Saviour and His superabundant Spirit
Who is ever present and ever willing to equip
And raise me above the clutter and the noise of this present darkness
Launching me forth into beyond
Through His power that is at work in me
As I choose to abide as I choose to be
The Lord said:
Cast aside the complication of emotional deliberation which saps strength and disconnects you from Me. Consider it all joy, and then fight to focus your internal space on peace, pleasantness and eternity.
“Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skillful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawing it forth from God’s Word and life’s experiences], for the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it better than fine gold.
Her ways are highways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold on her; and happy (blessed, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who holds her fast.
My son, let them not escape from your sight, but keep sound and godly Wisdom and discretion, and they will be life to your inner self, and a gracious ornament to your neck (your outer self).
Then you will walk in your way securely and in confident trust, and you shall not dash your foot or stumble.
When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.
Be not afraid of sudden terror and panic, nor of the stormy blast or the storm and ruin of the wicked when it comes [for you will be guiltless], for the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].”
Proverbs 3:13, 17, 18, 21-26
